Head of Operations – Catering and Concessions

We are looking to recruit a Head of Catering Operations for this newly created role within a large leisure venue in the West Midlands.

On a day to day basis you will manage the catering services with a high degree of customer care and service. The role will be pivotal in facilitating the venue’s objectives of safety, menu and technical innovation, customer service and best possible commerciality.

Tactically, the role will take responsibility for day to day service delivery, managing and empowering the catering manager, assistant managers and supervisors in terms of compliance, quality and customer service.

Catering consists primarily of a variety of retail concessions from ice-cream, drinks to hot and cold grab and go, therefore previous experience of managing concession catering within either a venue, visitor attraction or similar environment is essential.

You must also have experience of managing multiple P&L’s and know how to flex with seasonality, genre and customer profile in order to drive maximum revenue through each outlet, whilst still providing high levels of customer service. There is a huge amount of scope to double the current annual revenue.

The ideal candidate will have relevant past experience to mix both the strategic and tactical elements of the role.

Strategically, the Head of Catering Operations will develop ideas and business cases for future operations, including investment and development required to improve the current offers and their service, be it across concessions or bespoke solutions for specific events.

You will need to be analytical, utilising demographics and research to facilitate the development of sales, products, events and offers that will lead to opportunities to drive increased uptake.
